New Year Cleanse

It's been a while since I have posted, but I am back and am committed to posting on a regular basis this new year!  In addition to regular posts, another one of my New Years resolutions is to live a healthier lifestyle.  This includes diet and exercise.  This seems to be one of the most common New Years goals and I am sharing what kick started my healthy new lifestyle.

My first post on this blog was about a juice cleanse that I created myself.  I am a huge fan of juice cleanses as a way to give your digestive system a break while also resetting your palette and easing your way into cleaner eating.  This time I chose to order my cleanse as doing it myself was very time consuming.

Pros to doing it yourself:
  • It is WAY cheaper
  • It is the freshest possible way to do a juice cleanse
  • You have to own a juicer
Pros to buying a cleanse:
  • A LOT less time consuming
  • No effort necessary.  Juices are numbered and ready to go
The cleanse I chose was the Cooler Cleanse (http://coolercleanse.com/).  This cleanse, created by the owner of Juice Generation in NYC and Selma Hayak, is all raw, organic, and vegan.  The best part?  They ship to any state!  All you have to do is order online and the juices will be overnighted to you.

Juices are numbered 1-6 and it is advised that you drink a juice about every 3 hours.  It is a great balance of vegetable juices (green juices and beet/carrot juice) and fruit juices (pineapple and watermelon).  The final juice is an Almond Milk blend that basically serves as your "dessert".

All in all this juice cleanse left me feeling refreshed and I was never extremely hungry during it.  I highly recommend this cleanse and feel that even new juicers would be able to complete this cleanse with no problem!
